DIY Chicken coops teach you a lot

There are quite a few of your friends and relatives who are laughing behind your back when they realise that you have decided to become, of all things, a chicken farmer. Let me tell you, between you and me, we are the ones who will be laughing, not they. They are not aware of all the nutritive value that an egg can give you. Those city-smart guys would recommend buying eggs rather than think of a DIY chicken coop project.

Doing something on your own, gives you a lot of satisfaction and involvement; these are not things that money can buy. Apart from the nutrition that you can get from home-grown eggs, you will also find that the chickens are good at getting rid of all your bugs and other creepy crawlies that might otherwise stray into your patio or kitchen.

It is good to know the many reasons why raising chickens is fast becoming a feature of many people’s lives today. When these chickens move all over the place, when not in the coop, they are scratching the surface of your soil, making it porous and loose, thereby ensuring that your plants grow better.
