You have to hand it to Apple on the I-Phone, I-Pod, I-Touch and I-Pad product line. The concept on a macro level is genius. They’ve created a user friendly tool where anyone with a coding background can develop “Apps” and even profit from those applications. Of course, more people developing applications mean more ideas, thoughts and creativity which only creates a need for a more improved I-Phone with more accesseries and that is exactly the genius. More ideas and more people looking at the future of the I-Phone will give them a competitive advantage over time. It helps alleviate the problems that most companies have which is getting lazy after success… but a constant influx of new ideas will keep Apple products innovative and adapting to the future.

Check out some of the Apple iPhone 4 Accessories. These iPhone 4 Accessories constantly being developed and updated… just like the Apps. For example, the iPhone 4 screen protector… it’s just amazing that music, movies, video, internet, email, phone and who knows what’s next can be all found on a single application.

If you wear prescription eyeglasses, you probably know what a hassle it is to go to the eye doctor, wait in the waiting room, get your prescription, and pick up your glasses. Not to mention, this process can be extremely high, especially if you don’t have insurance. Sometimes I think it cost too much money to see clearly! Even if you have insurance, you don’t want to over spend on eyeglasses… and just about everyone that I know that wears eyeglasses has several pairs. So, the good news is that there is now a much cheaper and more hassle free way to get your glasses…. simply by going online to get what you need you cut down on your time and never have to leave your house. Unless you don’t have your prescription, then it’s a 15 minute trip to Costco. If you do have your prescription you need go no further than you computer. Simply boot up, order your glasses (plus the extra pairs the office, car, and a backup). Just search for Zenni Optical… you’ll be able to get several pairs and there’s a good chance you’ll have money left over. It doesn’t take a lot of time. The great thing about the computer and internet is that you can all this over a cup of coffee before work one morning. Don’t take my word for it though, I’m just an everyday guy with an opinion. As they say everyone has one and few are correct. So try it for yourself if you think it sounds like a good idea… as they say seeing is believing.

Talkietech is really excited about their product line and they want to spread the word so they’ve sponsored me to help do that! I checked out the website and found it to be very user friendly with a plethora of useful products. They have some good deals and some prices. Coupled with the convenience of web shopping, it makes Talkietech a great place to start shopping. They literally have the widest selection of HTC Incredible Accessories I have ever seen on one web site. They have accessories for almost any phone on the market. They already have Droid incredible accessories and the Droid Incredible just came out on April 30. They also have the Droid Incredible Screen Protector which I haven’t found widely available in stores yet. Talkietech also has a pretty wide selection of Droid Incredible Cases they come in a couple different types and a lot of different colors. I know I talked about the Droid a lot because that’s one of the newest phones on the market. However, talkietech.com also has accessories for the latest Apple products, video games, E-Book Readers, and more. Keep in mind that this is a one stop shop for accessories. You’ll most likely get the phones from your service provider where you’ll get a better deal anyway when you sign up for the plans. Overall, this is a great site to check out. You know how much accessories cost and I know I always buy them at the store because it’s easy. Now, I’ll check ahead of time just to know the pricing because getting the accessories mailed to my house is pretty easy too!

I just went through the painful process of realizing that I need new glasses. I say painful because I went way too long before upgrading my lenses. But, in the end, getting the new glasses couldn’t have been more painless! Hence, I felt the need to throw up a post to give you the insight (no pun intended) that I have after my recent experiecne.

If you are looking for eyeglasses and you are used to going to the mall to get them, let me stop you right away before you make the same mistake again. See, the thing I figured out is that many of the mall retailers are over-charging you (in my opinion) for a pair of glasses that you can get online for much less money.

See, the reason I think the mall thing is over-priced is because you are paying to get the “name brand” frames. Did you ever wonder why it is the frames that are branded, not the lenses? Seems funny that the most important part is generic. right?

Well, the cool thing that this resource does is that they make all of their frames in house and all of their lenses in house and they don’t waste time or money slapping heavily marketed brand names on the frames,. The result is that you get the same quality lenses and the same looking frames for much less money. Check it out and let me know what you think!

Yeah, I want to win thousands toward a new pc too. Will you let me know if you ever figure out how to do that? Just kidding, I do have an idea I want to share with you!

Have you heard all of the talk about the home buyers credit? Well, the bottom line is that our government is doing everything they can to encourage people to buy homes. The idea is that the more demand there is for home, the higher the prices will be. And, I think the government has their fingers crossed that they can stem the tide of foreclosures and turn the housing market around. Lofty goals for sure, but that’s not really my point.

If you are a first time home buyer and you have modest or low income, you probably qualify for a $6,500 tax credit which would go a long way toward a new computer for your new house. Now, chance are good that your wife will find other uses for the money so make sure to stake your claim early and buy the computer before she changes her mind. Visa-vsera is true to for all you female readers!

The tax credit is not exactly the same as winning a contest. On the up side, though, the good thing about “winning” 6500 from the government is that you don’t have to pay taxes on it (again).

Remember the days when you would decide to go to the movies and you would buy your ticket when you arrived at the theater. There was never an issue with getting seats, tickets were affordable and even the popcorn wasn’t going to cost you an arm and a leg. Well, times have changed and most of us rely on our computers to help us get our movie tickets, and my advice is to allow your computer to help you get other tickets too. I find the Internet is the best place to find deals, and I found a site I want to share with you.

My wife convinced me to check out the Rodeo in Huston. It was my first time, but she had been before an really enjoyed it. Her one regret was the the first time she went (with another guy) her seats were bad, and she felt like she missed a lot of the show. This time around, the guy (me) was better and I was determined to make sure the tickets were better too.

After a ton of rodeo research, I found Houston Rodeo Tickets online for killer prices. The were great seats at affordable prices and I almost thought it was too good to be true. Well, I researched them on the web, found a bunch of great reviews, and went ahead and got the tickets.

The tickets were perfect. We had a great day together. And, I just wanted to share another great use for your PC!

Keep two things in your PC clean, and you’ll be a happy camper. The first is your hard drive, and the second is your registry.

The first is easy because you already know how to keep your hard drive clean. Just delete all of the old music you never listen too, clear out your browser temp files, and you should be fine.

It’s an absolute necessity to have anti-virus software… and every one is looking for the Best Antivirus 2010. It’s a constant battle. Programmers keep making security better and hackers keep hacking that security. A virus will ruin your computer files… so it’s always important to have anti-virus software…. and it’s also a good idea to always back up your files.

We also get a lot of question about speeding up the computer…. anti-virus software protects your computer but that usually slows it down just a little. It’s well worth it. You likely have doors and locks on your house as well… and it slows you down when trying to get in and out… but most people believe it’s well worth it to have doors and windows! Security software is the same thing for your computer and trust us, your computer is a door (or window) into your home… a little scary… so protect yourself!

As far as speed goes, you can upgrade memory, upgrade graphics cards…. but sometimes it’s a matter of your registry… and keeping your registry clean is a bit harder, and I recommend using a registry cleaner to help out. The registry structure can be complicated, and you don’t want to screw it up.

Start with a good registry editor so you can see what you are dealing with. They are easy to use, and are very similar to a typical text editor.

Then, get ready to clean registry – that’s kind of like spring cleaning for your pc. Clean out the junk you no longer want loading, and you will see a performance improvement the next time you boot up.

Don’t take my word for it, but ask around. Any computer geek will tell you that I’m write. I mean right!

Also, don’t forget the first step, which is cleaning your hard drive. That also makes a huge impact, and you would be surprised how many people over look that step.

If you are anything close to as geeky as I am, you probably find the time to do some research before purchasing a watch. right? Well, I was in the process of building a computer for my daughter last weekend. She’s four by the way. Gotta start her in the pc word now so she’s ready to go in Kindergarten!

Anyway, I digress, sorry about that. So, I was building this computer for my daughter. It was a laptop, so the build was pretty easy. When, my wife mentioned to me that she really needed a new watch. She’s pretty down to earth, so she wasn’t asking for a rolex or anything. She just needed something kind of cool to wear. And, she wanted a larger format that would be feminine, yet masculine at the same time. Yeah, I know, that sounds odd, but what could I do other than try to find that perfect gift so I could get back to my computer building!

After a bit of research, I found a titanium watch at this website that seemed to fit the bill. It was a killer price, and I figured I would get some brownie points for sure. So, I sucked it up, put in the order, and crossed my fingers. The retailer shipped it right away, and thankfully she loved it.

Of course, the good will goes a long way. The laptop kit is also complete, and my daughter is surfing the Nick Jr website looking for the next cool dora the explorer game. Nothing was that cool when I was a kid!

Everyone likes free stuff. Did you know that free stuff is searched over ten thousand times a day! There’s a website out there now that specializes in auctioning “free stuff”. It’s really a lot like a bartering system except they do have a medium of exchange which are in the form of credits instead of money. The website is Listia and they way it works is that you get credits when you give away stuff. Later, you can use those credits to bid on “free stuff” that you want. It’s a very interesting concept. We’re spending a couple of hours today looking for things that we consider new ideas and this came across our computer screen. I certainly know I have some “free stuff” that I would like to get out of my house. With the two kids, I have more stuff than I know what to do with… so this appears to be a great way to help organize my new year! Currently, they’re giving away 300 credits for just signing up and you may be interested in the Texas Insturments laptop that’s up for auction.

Certainly, there are all kinds of ways technology can help us. Most of the time, we’re all about computers, improving computers, and making them run more efficiently. However, this morning I asked my 7 year old nephew what his goals were for the new year and he wants to be the starting pitcher for the Boston Red Sox. I told him that it might be a little unrealistic to make that happen before he turned eight given that spring training is only a few months away.

So, I convinced him to set some more intermediate goals for just this year. Now, he wants to throw a 100 MPH fast ball. For starters, I don’t want him to overthrow so we control that by making sure he knows to stop throwing when his arm feels at all tired but most kids get bored of throwing before their arms get tired!

So, what we’ve done is set up a target in his yard. It’s a net that we’ve painted a basic strike zone. We made it oversized to catch the stray balls as well. We used a Halloween scare crow for a batter and the thing that keeps his attention the most is the radar gun we’ve set up behind the net. His friends come over and they practice. For now, it’s all about getting the ball across the plate and in the strike zone. The radar gun keeps their interest because of course they all want to throw fast. Again, I don’t want them over throwing which is why I’ve set up the zone. If they focus on accuracy more than speed, they can incrementally improve their speed with control… and, of course, speed means nothing without control.

I guess the point is that technology is everywhere and can help us monitor goals. We still use the computer to track his progress!!!
